We hunted the whole of the UK looking for consulting engineers with experience in CDM projects of this type and filling the role of CDM Co-ordinator. After several meetings with potential vendors it became clear that RVA were by far the best choice to lead our project. There were many reasons for this but total professionalism and health and safety excellence were the main factors . During the project we were not disappointed in our choice . The scope of work changed continually from total demolition and full environmental remediation to equipment dismantling and leaving buildings standing . None of this continuous change and uncertainty phased RVA in the least . The control of the works by RVA was very thorough and well documented including choice of principal contractor, risk assessment/method statement validation/approval , routine auditing and weekly site review meetings . The dismantling phase of the project was completed on time and on budget with zero injuries and only one minor near miss reported.
